Manifattura Automobili Torino today presents a new New Stratos, configured with a livery inspired by the Alitalia one, evoking its racing pedigree.
This car is one of the 25 New Stratos of the limited series that M.A.T. is continuing to produce and represents a graphic specification developed in close collaboration with the client. The livery originates as a tribute and contemporary reinterpretation of a visual language that defined an era of motorsport, now translated into a bespoke aesthetic configuration, designed to uniquely characterize this example.
Exterior design: racing heritage and contemporary reinterpretation
The silhouette of the New Stratos remains unchanged in its essence: compact, low, aggressive. The wraparound hood, the horizontally developed windshield that defines the entire front section, the wheel arches filled by specifically designed wheels positioned at the four corners of the volume defined by the characteristic wedge shape and the truncated rear.
On the carbon fiber body, the Alitalia livery overlays this geometry with chromatic and graphic precision, transforming every surface into a statement of intent.
The additional rally-style headlights of the New Stratos reinterpret the iconic design of the original model in a contemporary way. Designed to reinforce an even more personal and recognizable identity, they further clarify the intent of the vehicle while preserving the versatility of a car that can also be used in everyday driving. Compact and functional, they are engineered to ensure maximum visibility and integration with the bodywork, contributing to an even more distinctive visual impact.
Interior: essentiality and driver focus
Inside, the cockpit of the New Stratos maintains its essential and driver-oriented nature. Every element at the driving position is a precision instrument: the steering wheel, the 6-speed manual gearbox with H-pattern, the pedals.
The environment is defined by black Alcantara upholstery, which envelops the entire cabin and emphasizes its technical character. The helmet compartment is finished in tan Alcantara, also echoed in the seats and part of the steering wheel, creating a refined chromatic contrast consistent with the exterior livery. The red Sparco seat belts introduce a bold visual accent, directly derived from the racing world.
The customization reflects the same attention reserved for the exterior, with materials and finishes developed in coherence with the livery theme. Nothing is superfluous. Everything communicates the same philosophy: a car built to be driven.
Performance and mechanics: visceral driving experience
Beneath the fully carbon fiber bodywork, the New Stratos conceals a refined mechanical architecture, deeply evolved to deliver a visceral driving experience.
The 4,308 cc V8 engine delivers 540 hp at 8,200 rpm, with a dry weight of 1,247 kg and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.3 kg/hp. The 0–100 km/h sprint is achieved in 3.3 seconds, with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm and double wishbone suspension. A mechanical setup designed to respond, not to mediate.
The stainless-steel exhaust system completes a sound character that, together with the mechanics, defines a driving experience that is difficult to replicate.
Production and customization: a true one-off
From concept to final assembly, the entire process is managed in-house by M.A.T., with a level of customization that encompasses colors, interiors, materials, and dedicated components.
This New Stratos with Alitalia livery is a one-off that reflects both the identity of the project and the vision of its owner: a new, recognizable and unrepeatable voice within the limited series.
