HISTORY

273 | Manifattura Automobili Torino – Concept Design Development

Classic Inspiration, Modern Engineering 

The project stems from a private client’s request to redesign, on a modern mechanical platform, a new car featuring lines reminiscent of sports cars from the 1980s.
In particular, M.A.T. was asked to reinterpret, on a modern chassis, a coherence of lines and aesthetic solutions that are more classic than those seen today.

Bespoke Solutions for a One-Off Masterpiece 

As always, our interpretation of a one-off vehicle was not limited to design alone, but extended to the research and creation of aesthetic and functional solutions that are both innovative and feasible to produce on a one-off or limited-series project.
Several unique, tailor-made solutions were developed specifically for this car: the roof — a carbon-fiber component over 3 meters long, made in a single piece; the matte carbon-look engine covers; the hidden rear air vents, created by milling directly into the carbon of the rear bumper; and the interior, designed to evoke a retro feeling while maintaining all the safety and comfort features of a modern car.

From the standpoint of a one-off vehicle, this project represents a unique level of quality, integration, and technical solutions. In the history of all the one-off cars developed at M.A.T., this one stands—both in terms of surface quality, technical solutions, and overall integration—as probably one of the highest achievements of what we have done and what is possible to accomplish.
